It's a great blindfold for beginners. My boyfriend had never tried blindfolding before, neither being blindfolded nor blindfolding someone else. So this was a perfect starting point. It's really soft, even at the edges. As many have mentioned, it's quite long. But that's what makes it good for someone new to it. You can double-wrap it so it doesn't have to be tight, but it also stays in place during movements.
